All-Weather Outdoor Sign Panels:

CAM uses unique methods of “prismatic carving” that makes these sign panels superior to common routed signs. CAM Color-Carved sign panels are bolder, more readable and the most aesthetically pleasing when compared side-by-side to competition. We use carved borders, radius edges, a multitude of fonts, a variety of shapes, round-over edges and mounting options to avoid exposed hardware to make our customer’s signs sharp, clear and of course, the most durable for the most severe outdoor exposure.

Sign panels are machined from 2-color or solid color, UV-stabilized, high density polyethylene sheet material, HDPE. 2-Color sheet material is available in 1/4”, 1/2” and 3/4” thicknesses. The thickness to be used is determined by the size and use of the finished sign panel. Generally: Smaller signs, thinner material and larger signs, thicker material. Mounting options and graphics to be machined are also considered. Also, not all color combinations are available in all thicknesses.

Solid color HDPE sheet material is available in 1/4”, 1/2”, 3/4” and 1” thicknesses. Again, the size of the finished sign panel and graphics and mounting are considered in the selection of appropriate thickness.

All use conditions are considered when selecting the gauge material to use, and budget is a factor, too. 1/2” is the more common thickness on sign panels, 8” x 10” and larger, to about 3’ x 3’. 1/4” is used in many marina slip & dock marker signs and other small signs, 5” x 8” and smaller. Larger sign panels generally require 3/4” material, panel sizes 3.5’ x 3.5’ and up and on most all 2-sided sign panels.

Acrylic Inserts
When a third color or more is required for a sign design, CAM uses acrylic, another tough plastic, and mounts the desired colored acrylic shape, letter or logo into the HDPE panel. Many acrylic colors are available.	Business, towns, marinas, county and all types of specialty logos are “printed” on the backside of non-glare, clear acrylic when multi colored logos are required. These are mounted into CAM Color-Carved sign panels.

HDPE Cut Letters and Logos
For more durability than powder-coated aluminum, letters and custom shapes can be also cut from CAM Color-Carved materials.

Custom Letters, Shapes and Logos from these additional Materials:

Expanded PVC		1/8”, 1/4", 1/2", 3/4" and 1” thicknesses in black or white. Other colors and thicknesses available upon request. Sign letters, architectural shapes and other flat parts are available.
Acrylic Sheet		Most all thicknesses and colors are available. CAM also carves thicker sheet for “etched glass” type sign panels and decorative panels, 1/2” and heavier.
Aluminum Sheet (5052 alloy)		.080”, .090”, .125”, 3/16” and 1/4” thicknesses. Custom carved aluminum panels as well as aluminum letters are also done. Powder-coat finishes in all RAL Colors are available for any CAM machined aluminum parts. Drilled and tapped holes for stud mounting and hole pattern templates are standard on 1/4" thick cut letters and shapes.
Wood Panels		Carved yacht name boards, carved sign panels and cut shapes and letters are machined from teak, cedar, mahogany and other solid wood blanks.
Plywood		Custom cut shapes, as those for use as marine station sets in yacht building, are done, in-house CAM for many years. Large station sets requiring interference-fit, puzzle piece ends are a specialty at CAM. Some of the world’s largest sportfishing yachts take shape from plywood parts cut by CAM Components Co., LLC.
Structural Grade Recylced Plastic Posts		CAM stocks and sells posts in 4” x 4” and 6” x 6” sizes and several colors are available to complement our CAM Color-Carved sign panels.
